For over 25 years, Manuel Yazijian, CMW21 has built a solid reputation as North America's most trusted watchmaker. In early 2005, Manuel Yazijian became the Watchmaking Instructor and Certification Coordinator at the American Watchmakers - Clockmakers Institute www.awci.com.
For a period of nearly three years at AWCI, Manuel helped not only with the creation of the refresher courses in modern watch repair as required by the high-end watch industry but also taught many new and existing watchmakers on how to improve their current skills as well as learn new ones.
These short courses are essential to anyone preparing to take the Industry recognized CW21 (21st Century Certified Watchmaker) certification. Any watch repair person wanting to attest to the public at large of their basic level of competence, as well as to the Watchmaking Industry, can do so by being certified by AWCI.
Manuel Yazijian, continues to work closely with the AWCI, the only professional horological (watch & clock) association in North America. He currently serves as its Vice President and is a Life Member of the Institute.
In addition, from 2006 through 2009, he served as the president of The Chronometer Club, the largest affiliate chapter of the AWCI.
In late 2007, Manuel Yazijian resigned from his position as full time watchmaking instructor at the AWCI to move closer to family in Southern California where he currently works and resides.
